Nicole Stecker acquires internship

April 14, 2005

Nicole Stecker of the MSGIS part-time Twin Cities program, was recently hired as an advanced GIS Intern by the Metropolitan Council located in Saint Paul, MN.

Nicole's primary job responsibilities will be to identify land-use change throughout the Metro area by using aerial and thermal imagery. Much of her work and research will result in the Council's 2005 generalized land-use dataset. This information will then be used to document changes in regional development to assess and determine regional land supplies.

Nicole is a second-year graduate learner and has previously held other part-time GIS positions while pursuing her MSGIS education with Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Congratulations Nicole!
