Lynch hired as GIS Analyst II

Nicole Lynch, current student of the Winona RA program, has just been hired as a GIS Specialist II for Synder and Associates, a large private consulting firm in Iowa. Nicole will be in charge of coordinating many of the firms GIS processes ranging from engineering projects to providing GIS modeling used in decision-making support for public projects.

Nicole offered the following coMMent about her new job, “The deciding factor, I was told at the time of the offer, was my well rounded education. They said that many people applied with many different backgrounds, but the fact that I possess strong knowledge of ArcGIS 9.0, strong writing skills, project management and grant writing skills, and I have had experience with ArcIMS really helped set me apart from the rest of the competition. They also stated that my higher education will provide for a brighter future for their company.”

Nicole is completing her studies with the crime analysis/local government portion of the MSGIS degree and is also involved with coaching SMU Women's softball and coaching high school girls basketball and volleyball. She is excited to begin her new role, which begins on June 6, 2005. Nicole, congratulations and best of luck with your new and exciting career!!
